Relation to body weight

A concern arising from this observation is that behaviors which are more than 30 years are still used by American fighters, although to a lesser magnitude 13 , even with the implementation of educational programs and changes in rules 10.13 . Regarding Brazilian athletes, there is a similar pattern of behavior, but no study has yet been conducted and little attention has been given to the subject.

The competitive logic compels athletes to reduce body weight by dangerous and counterproductive methods, as observed in this study. Also in relation to body weight judokas evaluated, only two of the athletes had changed to a heavier category. Of these, one was still 1.7% above the limit of the new category, while the other was below 1.4% the maximum weight, although reported to remain constant above 1.4% of that weight.  http://feastyourfataway.soup.io/post/437599534/Proper-nutrition-for-weight-loss

This indicates that, despite not having been questioned about it, how often the respondents in this study judokas reduce weight is probably high, since they always compete in the same category often weigh more than the limit of it, and participate in numerous competitions per season. Considering that such practices are absolutely applicants, there is a constant cycle of reduction and rapid weight gain (WC - weight cycling ). http://feastyourfataway.mee.nu/reducing_food_intake_for_weight_loss
